How do I schedule or run a wireless AutoUpdate?
  Question
How do I schedule a wireless AutoUpdate?
  Answer
All Epocrates mobile products have the ability to perform AutoUpdate wirelessly, either on demand or at a scheduled time. Your mobile device must have wireless Internet access and Epocrates Rx 7.51 or higher in order for you to take advantage of this feature.

With wireless AutoUpdate you do not have to be at a desk; you will always have the latest information at your fingertips. If you are using your device for other tasks when the scheduled AutoUpdate is initiated, you will have the option to postpone the AutoUpdate up to 1 day and continue working.

Palm OS (including Palm Treos and the Centro)

Support Considerations

There are some support considerations to bear in mind regarding wireless AutoUpdate:
  • Wireless is the only AutoUpdate option supported for Windows Mobile Smartphone and BlackBerry devices.
  • Make sure your device is turned on during the time the update is to take place. If your PDA phone is turned off, your scheduled AutoUpdate may not work.
  • Macintosh users are advised to not use wireless AutoUpdate UNLESS they disable the Epocrates conduit on the Macintosh itself. Updating Epocrates wirelessly and through a Macintosh for the same device will cause corruption within Epocrates. Macintosh users should choose one method or the other (wireless AutoUpdate or AutoUpdate through HotSync).
