Please note if you have a compatible Palm or Windows Mobile device that can access the internet with an unlimited data plan, you can now install and update Epocrates wirelessly. Just open an Internet browser on your device and go to get.epocrates.com to install wirelessly. If you do not have a wireless enabled device, please see the instructions below for installation steps specific to your device and computer operating system.
Please be advised that your mobile device needs to be able to synchronize to your computer without errors before you can install Epocrates. If you are syncing to a new or different computer you will want to set up your handheld synchronization software to that computer and sync a few times prior to installing Epocrates. Once that is complete, please follow the steps below:
BlackBerry
- Open a the web browser on the phone.
- Navigate to the following web address.
http://get.epocrates.com
Please note that the prefix "www." is not part of this web address.
- Select the "Install Now" button and follow the on-screen prompts.
Please note: At this time, both the install and all updates are done over-the-air (wirelessly). We do not have plans to release a version that installs or updates through a computer. Therefore, an unlimited data plan is strongly recommended. If you do not have a data plan, your carrier will charge you for the downloads.

iPhone and iPod touch
- Go to your iPhone Home screen and access the App Store.
- Tap the Categories tab.
- Select the "Medical" category and locate "Epocrates."
- Tap the Get App button.
- Tap the Install button.
- Enter iTunes password.
- Return to your iPhone home screen and tap on the Epocrates icon.
- This will ask you to enter your Epocrates username and password so you can complete the installation. Please do so, then tap on "Continue installation." Remember that your Epocrates username and password are CASE SENSITIVE.

Palm Pre
The Palm Pre is a wireless device but to obtain the Epocrates installation file you will first need to connect to a desktop computer. Please click on the computer operating system below that applies to you for detailed instructions and system requirements:

Palm/Windows (including Centro, Treo 680, Treo 700p, Treo 755)
- Go to www.epocrates.com and click on the My Account link.
- Log in with your username and password.
- Locate your subscription and then click the Download link. (If you have more than one subscription, please note that you only need to click ONE. Our server will send you what you subscribe to based on your login information.) Select the "Cable Install" option and continue.
- Now you will see the red Begin Download button. Click it. When you are asked if you want to Run or Save the file, choose Run (some browsers may ask if you want to Open or Save, choose Open). When the file download is complete, click Run to begin the desktop portion of your installation. Follow all of the on-screen prompts, including choosing your Palm user profile, and finally performing a HotSync to complete the installation. It is important that you remain connected to the internet during this process. If you use any firewall software, we also advise that you set it to allow Epocrates to connect to the internet. If you are not sure how to do this, please refer to your firewall software manufacturer's help section or view our FAQ listings on how to configure some of the more common firewalls.

Palm/Macintosh (including Centro, Treo 680, Treo 700p, Treo 755)
- Go to www.epocrates.com and click on the My Account link.
- Log in with your username and password.
- Locate your subscription and then click the Download link. (If you have more than one subscription, please note that you only need to click ONE. Our server will send you what you subscribe to based on your login information.)
- Now you will see the red Begin Download button. Click it this unless you are downloading the non updating version of Epocrates. The file will begin to download and you will see the status on the screen.
- When the file download is complete, locate the Vise file named EpocratesMac. You will need a current version of StuffitExpander installed on your Mac in order to run the installer. The options will be Easy Install or Uninstall. Choose Easy Install. Follow all of the on-screen prompts, including choosing your Palm user profile, and finally performing a HotSync to complete the installation. It is important that you remain connected to the internet during this process. If you use any firewall software, we also advise that you set it to allow Epocrates to connect to the internet. If you are not sure how to do this, please refer to your firewall software manufacturer's help section or view our FAQ listings on how to configure some of the more common firewalls.

Windows Mobile Pocket PC (including Treo 700w, Treo 750, Treo 800, Treo Pro)
To install Epocrates to your Pocket PC/Windows Mobile device, you must have a Standard Partnership established with Active Sync (or Windows Mobile Device Center if you have Windows Vista). If you are connected as a Guest, you will not be able to install the software. Ensure that your device is connected to the computer and can sync normally, then follow the steps below:
- Go to www.epocrates.com and click on the My Account link.
- Log in with your username and password.
- Locate your subscription and then click the Download link. (If you have more than one subscription, please note that you only need to click ONE. Our server will send you all programs you subscribe to based on your login information.) Selecte the "Cable Install" option and continue.
- Now you will see the red Begin Download button. Click it. When you are asked if you want to Run or Save the file, choose Run (some browsers may ask if you want to Open or Save, choose Open). When the file download is complete, click Run to begin the desktop portion of your installation. Follow all of the on-screen prompts, clicking through until your Active Sync/Mobile Device Center begins to sync the files over to your device. It is important that you remain connected to the internet during this process and that you do not disconnect your device until the installation is complete on the device screen as well as on the desktop. If you use any firewall software, we also advise that you set it to Allow Epocrates to connect to the internet.
