I receive an "error loading databases" error when I open Epocrates Rx Pro on my Pocket PC.
  Question

I receive an "error loading databases" error when I open Epocrates on my Pocket PC. How do I fix it?

  Answer
This error typically indicates you have an incomplete Epocrates installation. Configuring AutoUpdate then synchronizing should complete your installation.

To fix this issue, please:

  1. Open Active Sync, click Tools then Options.
  2. Place a check mark (if needed) by Epocrates AutoUpdate.
  3. Click to select Epocrates AutoUpdate then click Settings.
  4. Re-enter your Epocrates username and password, click OK then click OK a second time to close.
  5. AutoUdate should try to access our web site to download the latest updates.

Normally, Epocrates should automatically begin to update. Please allow AutoUpdate as much time as it needs to complete. Your installation AutoUpdate can take a while to complete.

You can manually AutoUpdate from your handheld using the following instructions:

  1. On your Pocket PC tap Start, Program Files, File Explorer.
  2. Open the My Device \ Program Files \ Essentials folder and tap AutoUpdate.
  3. Tap the AutoUpdate button in the center of the screen to update.

If you still receive the same error, you should erase Epocrates from your Pocket PC, and then reinstall.
