Depending on which Epocrates application you have installed, your notes may be located in different places on your computer. When upgrading to a new Epocrates
version, your notes are preserved. Deleting Epocrates from your handheld will delete any notes you have made. Syncing will then delete the backup notes file on your computer.

| HotSyncing your handheld to your computer automatically
backs up up all Epocrates related notes into one of the directories listed
above.
We recommend copying your notes files to a different location on your
computer and / or a diskette periodically. |
Restore Notes:
- Reinstall your Epocrates application to your handheld.
- Locate and open the directory on your computer or your diskette
where you previously saved your notes. Never restore notes directly
from the backup folder location as these may have been overwritten and not
contain any information.
- Double click Notes-nc-2.PDB to launch your Palm or Quick
Install Tool. Use this tool to select the other three notes files,
as needed. Click Done to close.
- HotSync your handheld to your computer to restore your notes.

Epocrates PPC/Win
Since Epocrates Rx Pro and Epocrates ID notes are not automatically backed up
during each synchronization, you must manually back them up periodically
Deleting or uninstalling Epocrates Rx Pro from your computer or handheld deletes
any previously saved notes from the default directory.

- Open Microsoft Active Sync on your computer.
- Double click on Epocrates AutoUpdate under Information Type.
- Click Backup Notes to save your notes to the Backup Directory
listed above.
- Click OK. to close
- Open the backup directory and copy your notes files to a different
location on your computer and / or a diskette.

Restore Notes:
- Reinstall your Epocrates Rx Pro to your Pocket PC.
- Copy your notes files from your previously saved location into the
:\Program Files\ePocrates\EssentialsPPC\ [device name] directory.
- Connect your Pocket PC to your computer
- Open Microsoft Active Sync on your computer.
- Double click on Epocrates AutoUpdate under Information Type.
- Click Restore Notes then click OK
- Change the sync frequency to Update Always or open up AutoUpdate on your device and tap the AutoUpdate button
- Your notes will now be restored to the handheld. If needed, open AutoUpdate again on the PC to reset the sync frequency back to Update Daily
