  Device Synchronization Software
  Question
What does the "please install your device synchronization software" message mean?
  Answer
This message means that the software needed by your handheld device is either not present on your computer, or the wrong version of Epocrates was downloaded.

If you have a Palm OS device (including the Treo 650, Treo 680, Treo 700p, Treo 755p, Centro), you will need to have the Palm Desktop/HotSync software installed on your computer. This software will be on the CD that came with your handheld. If you no longer have the CD, it can be downloaded freely from Palm's web site. If you have a Macintosh computer, please not that MarkSpace Missing Synch is not recommended.

If you have a Windows Mobile Pocket PC device with a touch-screen (including the Treo 700w, Treo 750w, Treo 800, Treo Pro), the software you will need will vary depending on the version of Windows on your computer.
  • For Windows XP Home, XP Professional, and 2000, you will need Microsoft ActiveSync. Version 4.5 is recommended.
  • For Windows Vista (32-bit), you will need Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center. Version 6.1.6965 is recommended.
This software should be on the CD that came with your Windows Mobile device. If you no longer have the CD, ActiveSync and Windows Mobile Device Center can be freely downloaded from Microsoft's web site.
