How do I correct the invalid username/password error on my iPhone or iPod touch device?
Answer
There are various possible causes for the invalid username/password error.
Please be sure you are not trying to enter the Epocrates log in information on the Apple ID page. You must have an account with the Apple iTunes store in addition to an Epocrates account in order to complete the installation.
Other troubleshooting steps are as follows.
Verify you have a registered account with Epocrates. From a desktop computer, go to our website:
Click on My Account (in the top right) and click on the Register Now link.
Verify your entries are correct by logging in at the My Account page.
Be sure that your iPhone/iPod touch is physically disconnected from your computer.
Verify that you have correctly entered your Epocrates username and password into your handheld device.
From the iPhone's main menu, select "Settings."
Scroll to the bottom and select "Epocrates."
Re-enter your username and/or password as needed and press the menu button on the handheld.
Be sure your device's battery is at least 70% charged.
Be sure your device's signal strength is very good to excellent.
If you have features such as "word complete" or "text prediction" activated, please disable them as such features often append blank spaces to the ends of words. This would cause the username and/or password to become invalidated.
Be sure your device's Wi-Fi or Edge network connection is functioning. To do this, choose "Settings" from the handheld's main menu. Select "Wi-Fi" and set it to "Wi-Fi On."
