Answer
Please note that in this document, updating Epocrates refers to the process of updating the information contained within your Epocrates program. If you are being asked to update Epocrates in the App store because a new version of the software is available, this document will not apply to you. To update your version of the software, simply accept the upgrade when prompted by the App store. An internet connection is required in order to install the update.
Updating Epocrates for iPhone:
Our new automatic background sync upon launch of the application means you’ll always have current clinical content with no effort required. By design, Epocrates will update itself 5 days since the time Epocrates was last opened on the device. You do not need to do anything-the updates will take place automatically.
Updating Epocrates for iPod Touch:
Updating Epocrates on an iPod Touch requires a connection to WiFi prior to beginning the update process. To manually update Epocrates once you are connected to WiFi:
Access Epocrates on your iPhone/iPod touch Home screen.
Select "More" from the bottom of the screen.
Select "Updates" from the "More" screen to update Epocrates content.
This will start the update process. Please allow it to finish and check the time and date on your device to ensure the update was successful.
NOTE: Times listed on the update screen will be Pacific Time.
